Why are HDMI cable so expensive?
Answers: for one a dvd player's picture is not going to raise THAT much with HDMI. It will facilitate out Bluray and HD Dvd players which aren't that cheap. most of the time the 29.99 cable at walmart or target is just fine to use for simple setups. HDMI is also video and audio adjectives through one cable (when supported by the device)
They are a much more advanced cable. They are more expensive to produce. When demand for the product increases the price will fade away. It's the law of economics.

At first, HDMI cable were expensive because they be only made surrounded by small quantities... in a minute that they are becoming more popular, it doesn't cost as much to manufacture them (although it is still much more costly than RCA cable making). The prices enjoy come down to reflect that - what in a minute costs 30-50 dollars at Target or Bestbuy used to cost over $100. I bought some $10 cables at a wholesaler surrounded by Houston, and they work fine for 720p, and sometimes for 1080i, but they can't do 1080p... I also bought a $25 cable from http://www.bluejeanscable.com and it works perfect for 1080p next to high color. You should check them out!
