Blue Ray or HD ?
Answers: It depends and they both hold their strong points.
Although I just read that HD DVD is region free and Blu beam isn't.
For movies, they are pretty much the same.
BluRay enjoy a larger capacity but both are more than mediocre for High Definition content for movies.
Neither, there is already another format contained by the works. Holographic disks.
Both, LG has a dvd player that doesnt cost too much and plays both. In overnight case on falls off the planet you can still play the other.
They're pretty much equal. They both do the same piece, and even hold the same amount of background.
It's still too early to be getting involved beside either format right immediately. There aren't that many movies for any - and definitely no really big titles.
I'd hang around for this whole "format war" to move about away. Right now, it's utterly stupid of the companies to expect consumers to "choose" between, right to be heard, Spiderman or James Bond. Stupid, stupid stupid.
Blu ray is unbeaten as of now and holds TONS more space afterwards HD does (regardless of PoohBearPengui's idiotic statements). But HD is indeed cheaper next Blu Ray. Anyway, this aritcle about sums it up..http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/s...
In adjectives honesty, I would say hold stale until first quarter of '08. The first couple of generations of players own been have sync issues and are SLOW. If you wait a while, afterwards you will pay partially price and get a better player.
If you cannot loaf, I would recommend a dual format player. LG is on their second generation of dual format players right in a minute and there will be more to come by other manufacturer.
See the article that I have provided for you for assistance
on your question. Other option include opting for
a common player that will play both formats or
consider a good up-converting DVD player.
Go for a dual format player as within is really not a huge difference between blu-ray or hd dvd and depending on your taste contained by movies if you get a blu-ray player in attendance might be some hd dvd's that you really want and won't be able to play them on the blu-ray player.....I get myself an LG Superblu blu-ray/hd dvd combo player today and I couldn't be happier.
Apparently Samsung is going to be making a combo player as well.....hopefully this will open out the doors to more manufacturers making combo players and cheaper ones as powerfully so that we can all soak up the best of both worlds.
