Ok I can't recommend anything below $200. I will be lying to you if I said that I can. The closes thing to an AV addressee that you will get for $299 (Canadian Dollars) is a Pioneer VSX817. Good ample for component video switching and 5.1 surround sound.
Unless you want to buy the Logitech X-540. It's smaller amount than $100. 5.1 surround system and will work for most AV sources.
