After a power outage, I lost sound on my HD channel only, as okay as HD programs I had on my DVR. I hold comcast cable hooked up to a Sony HD tube TV (that supports 1080i HD) via HDMI cables through a HDMI switch box. When I power past its sell-by date the cable box and enter into the menu I can change HDMI settings (480i through 1080i) but just get nouns on HD channels when this is set to 480i (thus affecting HD picture quality). I enjoy spoken to comcast service reps reset the box over the phone as well as own techs come out, but to no avail. I think this is newly a handshaking issue, but can't seem to amount it out. Also, I am able to bring back sound and picture from my PS3 (hooked up through the HDMI switch box) so I don't regard as it is the TV. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Answers: Make sure you output nouns in PCM and NOT Dolby Digital over HDMI. Most TVs don't crack DD over HDMI.
