BUT if you just want to mess around and won't drive the system incredibly hard, you might look into an AC to DC converter. Make VERY sure the amps are right and won't burn your equipment.

They're conversation about a 50 watt driver which probably won't do much. It merely cost $25 or so. Maybe Radio Shack has similar stuff.
Then you enjoy to use thin, point wiring which won't soak up adjectives the juice. It'll look, and probably nouns, like crap.
