Hooking up my logitech z-5500 to DVD/PS2 player and sounding muffled...?

i've tried connecting my z-5500 to my computer, and it sounded very nice rationale i get to adjust the EQ on the computer. But when i hooked it up to my PS2 to play games or scene DVD, the sound be sort of of muffled, lacking treble. I enjoy another set of altec lansing MX5051, which enables me to adjust seperately bass and treble, but i can't seem to be to find the similar function in my z-5500 panel. What is the course to make playing DVD from a non-PC source nouns great? How do i adjust the equalizer?? I need to know, if not... it'll be really terrible. i bought this system near making it into a home theater in mind... and an extra thing is that would placing these speakers within a large room affect the nouns stage and quality? end in i felt that the satelites are enormously directional... Thanks!

Answers:    Not to say I told you so but using a system designed for a PC will donate you inconsistent results. (See previous answers on the subject).

A DVD player is not adequate to properly pre-amplify and process the signal. You have need of a receiver to re-eq the signal, and compensate for the room and speakers selection. Most likely your speakers are reception the full range audio and trying to reproduce everything, including bass. Whereas a beneficiary would use a crossover to cut the low end out of a focus and redirect it to the sub.

And you are correct the speakers are greatly directional. There design is for no bigger than a few feet across. With that within mind to develop the proper sound stage, they are required to be that directional.

Also given the ample room they will most likely nouns tinny and distort. The fact that they are collectively close to the listener the shared power supply will have a greater distortion factor.

There is the possibility of salvage the set up but given the extra investment in doing so, I would recommend adjectives your losses and sell them on E-bay and find the proper set up. A home theater receiver, and unpowered speakers.
