Any opinion on Sony ability issues beside home theater?
Answers: I disagree that the ES splash of Sony is any better. Given my experience evaluating the latest model ES addressee and its inability to work properly, even with other brand clean Sony equipment, I have to as a finagle wonder about the element of their products as a whole.
Sony have a growing predication toward taking advantage of the consumer.
So given;questionable design and confirmation, poor quality, non existent after mart support, poor interoperability with other manufacture, and the recent blu-ray propaganda that permeates even this forum, make me steer away from Sony when at all possible.
There are plenty of other manufacture that listen to the consumer. Apple and the iPod is a prime example of a good role out. Sony is losing footing on most of in attendance business units and I look for them to be out Business in 10 years.
Agreed. However, if you stick to Sony's ES line, you will find the feature is much better ( as well as the warranty- 5 years on most products). It used to be adjectives of Sony's products were made right at home ( Japan ), presently like every other corporate giant, outsourcing is the road to go to. Sadly, most other big manufacturer are the same- Pioneer, JVC, Onkyo ect. You have to catch their "premium line" to get wearing clothes quality. Quantity, not talent, is what makes these giant who they are and we, the consumers, are at their mercy. Perhaps is we stop paying such insane prices for such poor quality, we would amenable their eyes. Hmmmm, just a thought ; )
Aside from thier workmanship, they dont really compare next to better companies with regard to home thater sound. Thier technology as far as dts decrypting and processing is outdated and thier systems are adjectives involing sattelite speakers and a subwoofer. Once you try a decent surround system (5.1 or 7.1) beside at least bookshelf speakers from yamaha, or onkyo. you will never setlle for sony again. yes sony can create the surround effects, but you hear so much more and it is much more lifelike and authentic with the other guys. but dont give somebody a lift my word for it. try and listen to a few.
I think the Sony KDS column is great in jargon of home theater (NOT the KDF). But if you want the best home theater... no questions asked. Go beside Toshiba, it's without a doubt the best. The 56HM66 model is $1800, profoundly cheaper than the rest of the home theater systems out there.
