Blu Ray DVD?

I am buying DVD'S online, and I am seeing ads for Blu Ray DVD'S. What is a Blu Ray DVD - and also - what is the difference between a Blu Ray DVD and a regular DVD?

Answers:    Blu-ray is a high-definition format for movies to play contained by full HD resolution (known as 1080p). Of course, you need a high-def TV to play high-def movies.

And, similar to all technology updates of this sort, Blu-ray will play your matured DVDs but your DVD player will not play Blu-ray discs. Hope this helps.
BluRay is an extremely illustrious defenition DVD, which requires a BluRay player to play. (I think the cheapest one right in a minute is the PlayStation 3.) HD-DVD and Blu-Ray DVD are fighting for the spanking new standard as media. They use more focused blue lasers (hence blu-ray) compared to a dvds red lasers.
