We get a set of Samsung speakers from Goodwill. How do we hook them up?

I'm 99% sure that they are Surround sound speakers. There's a internal speaker system (PS C99) and two that should would go on the walls (PS R99). Each speaker have one cord and no jacks for other cords. All cords are black, so that's no help. The telivision have plenty of A/V jacks. Trouble is we have no hypothesis which jacks to plug them into. If these aren't for the television consequently could they be used for the computer?

Answers:    GOOD QUESTION

A lot of intelligent people own "information gaps" when it comes to home electronics. That's why people close to me have career helping other people out beside their entertainment systems.

The speakers you got are probably fine. And your TV is fine. But unless the TV if truth be told has speaker outputs - to be precise, color-coded red and black "push-to-pinch" connectors (for + and -, respectively) - which very few TVs at the moment do, you are going to need some sort of Amplifier or Audio Receiver to turn the signal coming out of your TV, cable-TV, satellite box or DVD player into nouns that those speakers can play.

If you look a little more closely at the wires attached to the speakers you will thought that there are two separate "ends" or terminal, and that there is a distinction between one and the other one. One is Positive (+) and the other is Negative (-) and so one will own a marking on it, such as small white lettering, or ridges or little gray stripes or SOMEthing, and the other one will not. Usually the one next to the writing on it is called "positive (+)" and it plugs into the red pinch-connnector. The other chain goes to the black one.

As long as you are consistent next to whichever choice you make on the first speaker, you will be okay.

Now, roughly that Amplifier/Receiver you'll need. You can find ths at Goodwill, too. For as little as $30 you can buy what you entail, which is a basic receiver/amp. Avoid brands approaching Emerson or Tandy, and try to find one like Yamaha or Onkyo. Pioneer is okay, too if they don't enjoy the first two. Make sure you get one next to the original manufacturer's remote, otherwise controlling the volume could be a bummer.

So, once you enjoy this, you will first have to receive the sound from your "sources" (TV, DVD player, etc.) into the heir. This will require a stereo interconnect (a cable with two connectors on respectively end color-coded red and white). These are inexpensive ($5 - $10) and you can sometimes buy a few of them for the price of one, depending on where on earth you go.

Once you've plugged one downfall of the cables into the "TV /DVD/Cable Box AUDIO OUT" connectors (color-coded indistinguishable way, red and white) and the other fall into the audio Amp/Receiver's DVD/CD/TV "AUDIO IN" jacks, then you're primed to hook up the speakers to their respective connectors (which look and function totally differently from the audio signal jacks just described) THEN you will enjoy sound.

If you're taking nouns from the TV, you may want to disable the internal TV speakers in charge to get the purest best nouns from the new system instead. This is usually an internal "Menu" function on the TV. If you don't turn past its sell-by date the internal TV speakers, you will have to enjoy the volume on the TV speakers turned way up within order to receive enought good signal going to your "new" Receiver/Amp.

GOOD LUCK - and tolerate me know how it goes.
