I enjoy a cross-question something like Blu-Ray and HDDVD players using HDMI beside a projector...?
Answers: You issue is HDCP. You will need to update the firmware most potential on the Macintosh first, try the projector second and the Players third. Firmware issues usually stem from a backward compatibility issue next to 1.1 or 1.2 going to 1.3a or 1.3b. Try to eliminate one of the components when trouble shooting. You also may be at the tattered edge of distance for the transport, as some devices one and only have ratify thru capability and will NOT extend the adjectives distance of the transport. You may require a transcoder for this purpose (see link).
It sounds to me like the McIntosh controller is the most imagined suspect. Can you substitute an HDMI switch (see the OPPO model) or A/V receiver near HDMI switcher to test it?
My guess is its an HDMI or HDCP grasp issue, and maybe if you isolate the problem to the McIntosh the company have a suggestion (firmware update??).
Hope this helps.
I am have a similar issue. Some of the DVD players dont like individual switched away from the television.
I freshly found out that both the BluRay and HD players I am using had firmware updates. I burned these into a CDR and did the upgrade, but I hold not had a luck to re-cable through the switch box to see if it fixed my problem.
Get the players updated to the latest firmware, afterwards try again.
