HDMI to YUV ?
Answers: An HDTV without an HDMI input, or at smallest a DVI input, doesn't really fit the definition of HDTV. A single cable YUV can't be converted to HDMI because they are two different signal types.
YUV is an analog signal with low resolution, HDMI/DVI are digital signals beside high resolution. Both HDMI and DVI transport the same video signal, but an HDMI cord carry the sound on like peas in a pod cable so that you don't have to run a DVI cord and audio cord separately. My point is that if your "High Definition TV" can't steal HDMI/DVI high-def signals, then it isn't an HDTV.
If your upconverting DVD player outputs to an HDMI and afterwards you convert the HDMI signal back into to a YUV signal, what's the point of upconverting when you convert it right spinal column down to low-def?
