Can you hold adjectives of the guitar electrical system contained by a guitar and sort it external by using two jacks on any side?

the only electrical system they have is a volume knob and perchance a tone knob and pickup selector switch. why do you need 2 jacks and why put it outside unless you want to reorganize the plasmatics.
