Can you see the difference when watching a Blu Ray movie compared to a non Blu Ray movie?
Answers: depends on the finicky movie and your tv. most likely you won't sense much difference. but sound-wise is a different story. standard dvd's use audio compression (similar to the mp3 format), whereas blu-ray uses a lossless format. (some dvd's especially of concerts may also include 2 channel PCM audio, a lossless format -- deeply equivalent to CD audio).
no. i donknow how much brays are contained by PI, but i have a ps3 and hdtv - go up to 1080i only so not as advanced as 1080p - not a true hd. BUT its a sony nice. besides im no expert on tv qual, i can not quite tell differnce on a progresive and non progressive scan. movies play merely as good over HD broadcasts on cabletv approaching HBOHD. if ur willin to spend 600US on a br dvd player, ur prolly better off savin towards a nice 32" - 40" sony lcd which i saw at the sony outlet for 800 - 1500 USD(which are refurbs.) append another 300 for a new tv
