Is a coaxial digital audio cable impossible to tell apart as RCA?

I am currently hooking up a home theatre system, and enjoy got most of it lower than control...

my tv only have one optical audio output and my reciever has individual one optical audio input and two coaxial inputs (for digital 6 channels, that is)

that`s why to connect my dvd player to the reciever, i am assuming that a single connection from digital coaxial to digital coaxial should be fine. will a reguar RCA cable work fine or do i inevitability a special type of cable for multiple audio channels.

thank you

Answers:    yes
Look within the users manual. No offense, use it.
the best audio cable to use for a dvd player is coaxial. you can use an rca cable but they dont transport a digital signal so you wont get surround nouns.
