Ipod hook up for home stereo?

Just got a clean lcd sharp aquos tv. All my home stereo stuff is over 10 years old, want to obtain new home heir (not home theater - just receiver) want to hook up ipod, but do I enjoy to get the dock that comes seperate from heir (HK,Denon,Onkyo, Pioneer) all provide them, can't I use just a total dock?

Answers:    If you just want to return with the sound to the heir you can use a dock or a mini to stereo RCA adapter for around $3. It plugs into the headphone jack and connects to the Red and White inputs (hopefully on the front of the receiver for smooth access.) It won't charge the iPod but it's very unproblematic. Unfortunately the better sound systems reveal the compressed moral fibre of the iPod music files. I would recommend a receiver that have a sound expansion mode to correct for that. Good Luck.
You, you can use the common dock - but the receiver will not display the info form your iPod. It is a short time ago the matter of convenience.
