5.1 or 7.1 home theater surround addressee?

My old RCA 5.1 Home Theater addressee just bit the dust. My room is wired to switch 7.1 configuration, but I am not sure which would be best. Room size: 13X20 with front projection DLP picture. Budget of roughly $500 for the receiver. Should I put the money into a top of the procession 5.1 or middle 7.1?

Answers:    Hi. One of the rules for obtaining a obedient Hi. Fi. system is QUALITY before QUANTITY. This applies to Home Theater also.
