Wouldn't dvd video be best view on 480p than 720p or 180i or p?
I would think that if adjectives I am going to watch is average DVD's and my Wii (which is also 480p). I would get imitation degredation by going higher than 480p unless I used an upscaling dvd player. What is the point of upscaling if you don't hold to.
I can understand society thinking that upconverting is better if you are viewing on a 720p native, but I would think that side by side progressive dvd on 480p versus upscaled dvd on 720p would look the same.
The source is the source. And imagery are not vectors where the computer know that it can just connect lines.
Answers: It's going to depend on how in good health of a job the upscaling player does at upscaling. I get one an Wal-Mart for aroung 50 bucks and I am quite impressed near it. I have notice the picture is sharper, crisper, and more natural than my antiquated 480P player.
to rule out the player quallity between the 2 units I set the Upscaling player to distribute out 480P over the HDMI and the picture wasn't as good, It be still Pretty good. That tell me that the Upscaler did a very honourable job of upscaling the picture.
FYI 51inch TV
i preffer a 720p..its resolution is opening better than 480p
theres a difference between widescreen and pixel resolution. wide blind will stretch and distort an image not made for it. most dvds come next to widescreen options and most wide open screens hold a pixel shape option so thats not a problem. additionalyl elevated def such as 720p 1080i or 1080p improves regular dvds A LOT. i never thought it would but when we bought a 720p tv, our standard dvd collection and ESPECIALLY OUR VIDEOGAMES look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. perticularly xbox and sony, but wii too. you dont NEED hd , but if you can grasp it, theres no reason not to.
