Will a VCR from the US account TV programs surrounded by Asia?

I want to take my VCR from America to the Philippines. I own the correct voltage and a cable box to connect to.
Will the VCR record and playback? Or is it resembling DVD which has different electronic formats within different areas, and which will not work? Thank you.

Answers:    YES!!

BUT it's really not the best idea!!

You can grasp it to work if you hook it up correctly!! The Tuner will not work at all!! So hook it up the the dish box!! Dish is big over in attendance...... as is a DVR!! Dish and DVR are very cheap and much better PICTURE over nearby!! But if you have tape you want to play you must bring a USA VCR! It will work once you hook it up...right!! But you should upload the video to the Internet or recorded on to a DVD. This will later a lot longer and be-able to be see every where!!

There are no VCR rental stores over within!! Only DVD!! Moreover you must have nearby regions DVD!!

FYI Dish and DVR is the way to walk over there!!

The bottom flash
it is never worth it to take an elderly or new VCR out of the USA!!
