My home vhs movie is 100 minutes. how will it fit on 80 min dvd?

that is, lacking going through all the trouble of getting into notebook hd and shrinking it etc.?? do these new dvd recorder have adjustment to lower quality and journal slower or something? what is the deal. i hold a library to transfer. give a hand?

Answers:    There is no such a thing as a "80 min DVD". A DVD have about 5 GB of space. Depending on how you compress your video you can put efficiently up to 4 hours of video or even more (but will look pretty bad).

All DVD recorders own "quality" recording settings (like the VCRs). Use the "middle characteristic " and you should be OK (something like Long Play).
your problem have nothing to do next to shrinking or file size or point. You can't make 100mins =80mins. You're going to hold to lose 20 mins somewhere. why not just craft 2 discs.
