A/V jacks or HDMI cable?

I have both the a/v jacks and the HDMI cable hooked up to my tv from my dvd player. Do I have need of both of them hooked up or one or the other? Thanks

Answers:    Nope, pointless to use both as your tv can only draw from one set at a time. Just stick near HDMI, better quality.
Onldy HDMI Cable is prerequisite. Only way you inevitability both is, if you go from the Player to your Home-Theater-Soundsystem and later to the TV. And if your Player only have 1 HDMI Slot you might want to use the regular jack if you want to bypass the Soundsystem if you are watching something that is not worthwhile the power the Soundsystem requires.
