Why am i getting no picture when i hook my dvd player up next to componet video cable?

We just get a vizio lcd.. i bought component video cables to hook it up.. hooked up the componet video and av cable for audio.. when i go to the component input i can hear the dvd but no picture and say no signal.. anyone know what could be the problem? i have adjectives the colors hooked up correctly, and tried both component 1 and 2

Answers:    Usually you have to set the dvd player up to output over the component cable. (the red, green and blue) To do that you actually hook up both the component cable and the composite. that is the sickly. then next to the tv on the input that the yellow cable is connected to you metamorphose the setting to output over component and possable even progressive scan. then you move about back to the input next to the component and you should have a picture.
you did buy the input wires next to 3 coming out right? i know you already put this but this keeps my brain working.. red to red , white to white (thats the sound) sickly to yellow which is video. brand name sure in the backbone of each dvd and tv that your pale wire is on the video out (dvd) and wan wire is on video surrounded by on back of tv.. if adjectives else fails read the instruction book...
