What is the best set up to stream music wirelessly at home?

I'm looking at a budget of between $500 - $1000. I do have an existing home audio system, but am thinking of purchasing AudioEngine a5 bookshelf speakers (self amped) and any a Squeezebox by Logitech or an Apple AirPort Express. What do others have set up or suggest? Should I buy another PC/server in recent times to store my music and add that to the wireless net? Also is it worth converting my mp3's to a higher talent format? My goal is to know how to play music anywhere in my house using a laptop or remote.
gratitude.

Answers:    This is what I use in my pool nouns to stream music from my PC to my receiver outside. It's an awesome little device and it have a nice big screen that allows you to browse your music, set playlists, etc. Plus, it's lone like $120 bucks and undemanding as pie to set up on your wireless network.

As far as the format go. As long as you go near MP3 at 128 bitrate that is compact disc quality and it's doubtful you will hear a manifest difference any higher.
