VGA to 3 RCA component video cable for DVD Player from Comp. Monitor?

I have a Gateway FPD1975W 19" Widescreen Monitor Model #: GTW FPD1975W. I be wondering If I could use a VGA to component video cable to hook up a DVD Player. The DVI port is being used.

Thanks,

Answers:    Yes you can. It requires an adapter not only a cable.
You can use a simple vga to component cable when you turn a vga signal into a component signal but it requires an adapeter to go the other process (turn component into VGA).

You need something resembling the gizmo at the link. That's why LCD monotors and TV prepared LCD monitors differ ... the latter build in the prerequisite electronics.
