HDMI video?

I have a monitor and a surround system. I am going to hook my Xbox 360 to the monitor via HDMI. However, near is no way to run my surround nouns through the monitor. But I still want to hook my surround sound system up via component from the Xbox 360. So my cross-question is, can I have the best of both worlds? Can I use the component cable just for sound and the HDMI cable single for video?

Answers:    I think you are confused...Component cable only get video. HDMI is the only cable that carry both audio and video over the same cable.

Does your beneficiary have HDMI ports? If so, HDMI from 360 to addressee, then HDMI from beneficiary to monitor. Your all set.
No, probably not, but heaps TV manufacturers own anticipated this and included a L/R audio out from the monitor so you can go from X-BOX to TV near HDMI then TV to Receiver beside L/R stereo.

I have this setup for my HD cable box because my current heir does not have HDMI inputs.

Hope this help.
