I hold a Sony STR DA30ES heir and when I press power to come on it displays PROTECTOR and no nouns . HELP.

I have checked the power cable and the outlet and adjectives appear fine. IT will produce no sound from any component it simply stays in protector mode. I can not find any suggestion to this in the brochure. Any help is appreciated.


Answers:    This is what I'd do to troubleshoot.

Remove adjectives of the audio/video inputs from the receiver.

Power sour the receiver by removing the power cord, loaf for 10 minutes.

power on the receiver.. If the protector message comes up afterwards there might be problem beside the receiver ...

If beneficiary powers on then your heir is good.

Power sour and now connect respectively component one by one. See at what point the Protector message comes, that connection is the culprit..

Some of the adjectives causes contained by connections for this are.

speaker cables getting shorted..
speaker impedance not set correctly contained by the receiver etc...
