Message to the guy that never let me have the remote: I reason you were right the first time. Bic Acoustech seem to be a copycat name mooching bad of Tannoy. I agree with you more or less Tannoy, good product! I didn't see anything call "Acoustech" at their web site though.

Another suspicious brand is BIC America. Neither BIC America nor BIC Acoustech look anything resembling Tannoy speakers, but they are exact duplicates of each other. Another foundation I believe you were right within the first place.

Esequiel: In the '70s and probably beyond, guys used to drive around in vans selling low expiration speakers with adapted sounding names glue on them. The story went "I only just made a delivery and I get these two pair of speakers not here over. They must have misloaded my van." And so on go the con... They often produced a brochure near an amazingly high retail price right on it. Is that how you saw these speakers? I would bet that some trellis sites are right on par with the guys that used to run vans. Why aver vans and pay street hustlers when you can correspondence speakers to people that hold never heard them and rate in credit? Is that how you found BIC Acoustech?
If you've already bought them, I hope for your sake I'm wrong and He Who Must Hold the Remote's edit is right!
I own to agree. If you spelled it correctly, these are cheap low-quality speakers.
Here is some advice: If someone is trying to put up for sale you something and they call it "The Best..." - it's a tale. (But the business world calls this "Marketing").

Wait - are you chitchat about "BIC Tannoy?" ... I a moment ago did some research and I have to retract my eariler statement. This is in reality a decent stripe of speakers from the UK. They are not well certain in the states, but magazine reviews enjoy been favorable. They are freshly not popular.
I apologize for the mis-read. There are a bunch of very poor aspect speaker systems being sold next to names that are particularly similar to well respected companies. I thought this be one of those.
