I have an LCD HD TV. In the put money on of it I have two spots for 2 different sets of HD component cable. In one I have my HD cable box hooked up. In the other I hold my xbox 360 hooked up. When I play my xbox I see purple lines throughout the picture. I messed around with everything and found that when the cable box isnt hooked into the hindmost of the TV the lines go away and the picture is crystal clear. Is the interference something to do beside my TV inputs, the cable box signal, or the cables themself?
Answers:
your problem could be any of the three.
Need some more detail on exactly what you hold, including all model numbers and brand of cable.
and yes cables do produce a difference.
Cable installers are NOTORIOUS for creating ground loops when they install their service. Leave the cables plugged surrounded by, but unplug the power to the cable box. If the little lines go away, that's pretty much pointing to what your problem is (i.e. the cable box).
Then I'd nickname the cable company and tell them their box is introducing row noise into the set, to bring out and install the box to CODE (if they've grounded it improperly, they hold violated the national electrical code).
