What are the best movies to relish a HD flat TV?

Answers:    How can someone else answer that?

Whatever movie you would enjoy watching and that you enjoy a player for. Although an upconverting DVD player connected via HDMI will make DVDs look better than a common player.
Action, Horror, Animated

Something Visually stunning. Comedy's are out, they are usually focused 100% on people. Drama's might be ok due to really pretty settings and background.
Usually Action or Science Fiction movies have amazing visuals that will provide some pretty amazing eye candy.

Especially if you are using an HD DVD or Blu-Ray player you will be getting the most out of your HDTV.
Disney/Pixar have the market on that. They're the first studio to construct DVD transfers straight out of a computer and not from a film strip similar to most movies. This signifigantly improves picture power over film transfers.

I antipathy to say it, but George Lucas' box department "nightmare" Episode 3 was one of the first movies not to be shot on picture. He used digital cameras so the DVD is copied straight out of his computer, giving it a great picture (even if the story is painful to behold).

And if you're tired of adjectives that DVD nonsense, take yourself a Blu-ray Disc player. It doesn't matter what movie you play on that format. Every title is record at almost TWICE the picture quality of HD broadcasts.

(as you might enjoy guessed, Disney/Pixar Blu-ray Discs look better than most other Blu-ray Discs)
