I am thinking about getting a ps3 near the blu-ray drive. If i don't have a special sort of tv (like hd movies with an hd tv) will the blu-ray be worthless?
Answers: pretty much, because the dignified resolution of the HD picture will be downscaled to only hold 480 lines of resoultion, so then it will be no different than a commonplace DVD.
I would get the ps3 and seriously deliberate of upgrading the tv..
a 42 inch plasma if you look can be had for around 1000 bucks sort sure its 1080p
and blu ray looks fab on one..

Just get it, sure it wont look any better next to the tv you have very soon, but it will benefit you in the adjectives when you upgrade your tv and when movies only come out within blu ray
