7.1 surround nouns serve?

on my onkyo 7.1 receiver their is a distance setup on the menu i be wondering if you lower the distance from (30 ft) to (15 ft) or lower will it be louder or what ,my question is what does the distance button do i don't mind any diffrence when i change.and my speakers are hung on the wall

Answers:    The distance setting will not translate the volume whatsoever. The distance setting only change the delay time at which the signal is sent out to the amplifier form the preamp. This allows the addressee to time the signals properly, so the sound breakers arrive at your ear when they are supposed to. If your time setting are not set correctly your surround sound may not nouns quite right. Sounds may not give the impression of being as though they are coming at the right time. But your volume is not effected.

The distance should be set as the distance from your listen position to the speakers.
The transmission frequency from your inside device to the distant devise will be high when you choose distant otherwise the clarity of the distant speaker will be low.
