I have two phones from the turn of the century and i want to hook them up so i can use them. one is completly intact but the other with the sole purpose hase the ringer and the hand crank. I also necessitate to know what kind of power supply to run them on. if you could give a hand me that would be awesome. i was told they run on somethinf close to 57 volts but i dont know i will have to find a power supply but this would be cool to capture working so please help!
Answers: Phones from the 1900s should not be using a power supply(AD/DC adaptor). The current to sort the phone work is coming for the telephone chain. You can try to connect to the wall jack(if the jack RJ11 match your antique dash cord jack) just resembling you connect a new corded phone set and listen if you can procure a dial tone.
However, nowadays, telcos use TONE to dial while your 1900s phone is PULSE but may still work though.
you can't. however someone on e-bay will buy it.
