I have DSL and want to add on a dial-up modem for caller ID. The problem is that the one jack by the computer will not display tourist ID. I brought a working CID unit from another phone jack and adjectives it says is "no information sent" after 4 rings. I tried with and in need the DSL filter with like peas in a pod results. Any ideas?
Answers: within the uk, the phone line will with the sole purpose support a certain amount of equipment, call ren. if too many phones/answer phones/caller self units, it will incentive problems, like phone not ringing, poss tourist id given up the ghost all through the house etc. surrounded by uk the ren is 4 and all phones or other equipment have a label on the bed giving the ren rating.
