I can't use my phone--all it does is engineer a growling nouns. But I can still use my internet--any clues? Help!

I don't have any hypothesis what can be causing this--it started suddenly only last week. Also, none of my slim-line phones (the giving that do not require a power source--you just plug 'em into the phone jack) will work at adjectives when plugged into any jack in the house. I've never have any trouble before--do any of you know how I can tell if the problem is on my inside phone column, or my outside phone line?


Answers:    You should hold a box on the outside of your house that is call a NID (network interface device). When you open the cover, it will hold a real short cable that looks merely like the one that you plug a phone to. Unplug it and plug within your slim-line phone. If you have equal trouble, then ring up the phone provider to come out and fix it as it is not your trouble. If it does not happen on the outside, afterwards the trouble is inside.

If you need to isolate jacks, disconnect adjectives phones and go from jack to jack to try to isolate the trouble.

You mention person able to use the internet - dial up or DSL? If DSL, consequently it makes no difference due to the channel that DSL is delivered.
