Not anymore. They turned them into "toy" shops. I usually go to electronic supply stores for components. ;-)=
No in truth I dont. I used to work at 2 different Radio Shacks in two different stores for nearly 2yrs and their policies suck, most of their employees dont bestow a rats a** about their livelihood or the customers, and all they caution about is the sale/comission. I havent be there since I stopped putting up beside the Cooperate crap! lol
I'm an electrical engineer, so no, I find them to be a anguish. But if you don't know much about electronics, you'll find better answers from them than you will at other stores, including Best Buy or Circuit City.

Your kid right. there isn't a radio shack contained by the country that's of any help to anyone. over inflated prices on everything. poor paperwork and even worse sales associates are total morons.
I can't stand the type of idiot that they put within the store. Most often they are pretentious and condecending to the customer.
Once they find out purely who I am they usually look dumbfounded and mope away. I am to the point of not wanting to go to radio shack since they are stocking smaller quantity and less descrete components. I usually bring back my stuff thru the internet but some times you need a portion fast.
And to adjectives Radio Shck employees I DO NOT NEED A NEW CELL PHONE!

if you only just need something chief and straight forward then they are usually terrifically knowledgeable and assiduous, but if you are looking for something obscure, or not an everyday electronic device they will still do here best to be helpful... but habitually times, you know a lot more roughly speaking a the product that you are looking for then them... but this is the valise in most stores... personnel are not trained on what they are selling... as the other person said, they do seem to be to hire people that know alittle more consequently the people within best buy / circuit city etc..
for the most part they are nifty... whenever i go to a rat shack and they dont take to mean what i need, or what the product i am purchasing does, they come across eager to follow and learn so that subsequent time someone comes by, they will have a better compassionate of what they are selling.. .
on that note... dont discard radio shack too swiftly... in times past they were particular to rebrand everything with at hand tandy, or RS brands and charge more then other stores for nearby rebranded electronics, but there business plan must own changed, because they sell the unadulterated brands now.. and nearby prices are competitive, they are no longer 10% or more higher afterwards the competition.. for example I purchaced a Skype ATA phone adapter in RS for $30 (i see it on here website now for $20) duplicate exact model device in best buy be $60

oh and one more entry.. where else are you going to find a radio scanner aside from online, or a professional radio shop (which here arent many of around)
no not at adjectives, all the upright stores were closed down ending summer, The stores that actually help the customer and did not just shove a cell phone down the customers throat, sorry if I nouns cynical, but I was a mediator at one of those good stores to shop at until they settled to close stores, and then see the knowledgeable manager to the curb and say appreciation for nothing.
