the podium transmits both sides of the phone call to the handset(s) and the headset transmits only 1 side of the conversation.
while this as a project would be difficult if impossible, because most modern cordless phones use some sort of FHSS, DSS, or other method for randomly shifting channel, and are digital (encrypted) it would be difficult to check..
the best option for attempting this would be one of the first 25 trench cordless phones, but i doubt you will be able to find any...

I have a panasonic expandable DECT phone, beside 4 handsets (i can expand upto 6) and i just necessitate to press intercom, and the # for the handset that I want to hail as (1-6) and the handset rings, and can be answered similar to a normal phone ring...
I understand what you are trying to speak, but a phone IS full duplex... If you mean can you turn them into walkie-talkies... here are phones that can do that too... they are Nextel's... but if you want a set frequency that only two different phones can natter to each other... yes, technically specifically possible too... the major interrogate that I have is why?
