Splitting up a phone queue between use of internet and portable phone?

Here's the situation: I just moved my desktop into the underground room and "fed" a phone line down through the upstairs floor into the vault, hooked up my modem and router. Now I come to a problem: There is a phone down here that needs to be hooked up (a portable phone)... don't ask why, I'm not really sure. So my put somebody through the mill is: Is it possible to split up one phone line into two (via a smudge splitter) so that I can have an internet and phone nouns at the same time?

I know this be worded rather awkwardly, so if you obligation any further information just permit me know. Thanks again for your time.

Answers:    If you're using a DSL modem, you should have two jacks on the backbone of it. One labeled "Line" and one "Phone". Plug your phone into the "Phone" jack. If not, you can get a splitter at any electronics or discount store.
you answered the put somebody through the mill yourself

LINESPLITTER
Yeah, a line splitter would work, but you might hold some issues with the phone itself, a DSL filter must be involved for both lines. If you are using dial up, afterwards no, it cant be done.
