Answers:    no...this you gotta watch...some of the Panasonic and Uniden are interchangeable but mind your Ps and Qs....most sales people don't even know about it...so dance online and really check it out first....don't just trickle for a nice and cheap phone......and then you enjoy to return it!
You didn't mention what kind of cordless phone you enjoy. The GAP Compatible DECT(European/Latin) cordless phones can interchange Bases and Handsets even with different models and brands. There is a registration procedure where on earth you have to register a headset to any base. Normally 5 handsets can be registered contained by one base. The handsets can also communicate near each other.
