Vonage Question?
Answers: yes, its merely worth it if you already have high-speed Internet! resembling cable or DSL!!
I have VoIP for over 4 years presently and love it! I love the features and all that stuff you can do next to it! I pay per annum, so its only roughly 16 dollars a month, for free LD and 40 foreign counties. Having family within Europe it really pays.... ! I have Packet8, and I have never even heard of them since, but I did lots of research dslreports about them.....but you can also own skype wifi phone, and don't even need a computer.....if you can bring wifi in your nouns!
Then as a second line beside free E911 I got MagicJack.....!

Now, the difference surrounded by them two is....while my Packed8 goes thru my modem, so the computer don't enjoy to be "ON"....the Magic Jack goes into the USB port .....resembling many other free SIP services....skype is such an SIP service....I also hold skype.....I can call the unharmed world with Skype.....!
I be a former Bell/ATT customer, and they really pleed me dry , every month such a high bill, because I inevitability all that LD and features....I have complete choice and all my LD beside them! well, never again!!
Like Roger said, you own to have broadband Internet for Vonage to work. But, you might look into what your option are on that front. AT&T was supposed to start offering stand-alone DSL service, as bit (I think) of their deal beside the FCC to complete the BellSouth merger. If AT&T doesn't have a box that you like, look into cable base Internet--particularly attractive if you already have cable anyway. Sometimes here are other options as all right. In one local community, the city offers cut-rate broadband on fiber to the curb. Vonage can be a really low-cost alternative to traditional phone service. While you are shopping for alternative services, you might look at AT&T Callvantage, which works newly like Vonage, but have different features. I actually surmise it performs for a time better, and it's in like price bracket. look at callvantage.att.com. Good luck!
