UK landline providers excluding BT?
Answers: I'm moving into my new home and requirement a new landline. It's to some extent difficult to find other providers however I managed to find the following:
BT - lb125 nouns fee and lb11 flash rental RIP OFF!!
Virgin - they only do cable and have need of (quoting their website) a BT phone line if you don't live within a cable area (like me). So if you own availability for them you don't need a phone string. You can get a much cheaper and better alternative by getting a cable connection.
Green Telecom (http://www.greentelecom.co.uk/contact.ht... who will do the conenction for lb99 and lb11 procession rental. You can only sign up to them online.
Kingston Communication (http://www.kingstoncommunications.com/) however they don't support my nouns so I don't know much more about them.
Bulldog (http://www.bulldogbroadband.com/index.as... also lb99 nouns and lb10.50 line rental.
Plusnet (http://www.plus.net/?home=hometop) although I wasn't competent to find much information in the broadband give a hand it does mention a lb105 connection duty if your new home doesn't enjoy a phone line connected. Line rental lb11.
Alternatively if you sign up to the Sky bundle (phone, broadband and tv) and let the sale team know until that time you get the bundle that you own no phone line, they will pay cheque the BT connection charge for you. This will cost you give or take a few lb26 a month and you have the BT row rental on top, which is a tenner.
Interestingly when I rang BT and asked if anyone else could provide the service of a clean phone line they said yes but be unable to entitle their competitors! Why it is so difficult to find a list of phone file service providers which can connect or provide a new phone strip for you is beyond me!
