How do you read the dial on a ham radio?

i have an anolog dial on my radio.
voice 40 meters...700 is the most used area it seem.
so is this 700mhz...or 7.0 or what the heck?
guess i`m dumb

Answers:    On 40 meters the normal ham company covers 7.000mhz (or 7000khz , it means the same) to 7.300 mhz
Usually nearby is data transmissions and morse below 7.040mhz and voice communications contained by LSB mode above that , with the greatest commotion for voice between 7.040 and 7.100mhz.

If the radio you are using has the competence to transmit , bear contained by mind it is a federal offense to do so if you do not have the appropriate license.
This can pass a fine of up to 10,000 dollars and even a jail occupancy.

Its OK to listen , but NOT to transmit.
