When a cordless phone say 5.8Ghz how far can I steal that from it's charger.?
Answers: Actually, there is plentifully of 'hype' on 5.8 Ghz. phones!! First of all, the superior the frequency, the less the breadth. These all run indistinguishable low power, around 100 mw. If you read the fine print, the base is operating at 2.4 Ghz. or 900 Mhz.!! I hold run tests on 900, 2.4 and 5.8... The elderly 900 Mhz. analog had the best catalogue!! It also depends on any surrounding objects, including trees, houses, metal, etc. The so called digital spread spectrum does NOT increase scope. It just pertains to the frequency (digital' hopping, preventing anyone from listen in.) That is not graceful nowadays lacking a special scanner, even to hear digital. I put a 2.4 Ghz. in a fanlight, and reached more or less a block, with the signal getting logrithmic a bit than linear fadeouts and flaky in response beyond that.
My phone say the exact same thing. Mine does not work outside, even if I am freshly standing on my porch.
