Wall Phone Jack wires?
I am installing a phone jack in my kitchen, when I started the install I found the wires within the wall to be Green and White and Green. The wall jack I purchased has Red, Green, Blue, Black, White and Yellow. Where do I put the the wires contained by? I tested the line outside and it works, but no business what combination I use for the inside house, I get it no dial tone. What am I missing? Where do the Green and White and Green wires be in motion? Any help would be great!
Answers: sounds approaching a splice job. Without seeing it, I would vote the White and Green go to the Green on the jack, and the solid Green go to the Red on the jack.
I have done profoundly with phones as I used to line houses, but I have never see phone wire next to only white and green and white wires. Is the line category 5 wiring? If so, near should be 6 twisted pairs of wires =ing 12. If so, the two wires that should be connected should be blue and white. What wires are connected outside in your d-mark? They should be indistinguishable colors and the wires inside your house. Maybe if it is category 5 there are more wires stuffed further up bringing up the rear the box in the wall.
