Why does my phone ring a partially ring at unselective times when no ring is incoming?

The landline rings a couple of times a day and display shows "incoming call" but here is no call coming. I enjoy dsl but filters on adjectives jacks. Only does it with some phones but those phones do it everything jack they are attached to.

Answers:    Telecom guys call it "false ring". Your phone ring detection setting is too low that it can detect strip noise as valid ring hence the partly ring at random times.

Have a mobile technician check your line and your phone.
