Binatone cordless phone [MD750] problem......can anyone push for?

Incoming calls......it rings once single but I can't get the telephone, and it doesn't go through to the inbuilt answering piece of equipment.
Outgoing calls.....no problem.
Batteries checked and OK.
When phoning home from my mobile it rings through but next seems to connect to a deafening crossed line conversation for a few second til it cuts off.
As I've mislaid the instruction book and can't find the answer on Binatone's net pages can anyone oblige out ?

Answers:    you have a guiltiness on your 'phone line which is technically call a 'Ring Trip'. This is caused by sodden. Check ALL your sockets and make sure they are not misty.

If no damp is found, disconnect your extension sockets from the key socket and try ringing your number using your mobile again. If it rings ok, then the imperfection is somewhere within your home. If it still wont ring properly the responsibility is outside and you can call your Service Provider to report the condemn without misgivings of getting a nasty bill !
do you enjoy your phone connected to a fax?
