Did you just not long switch to AT&T DSL with AT&T phone?
It sounds approaching you may not have tourist ID service activated next to your AT&T service? You may have to clear extra for that...
Using phone should not disrupt your DSL Internet connection, unless the phone is defective?
- Make sure the DSL filter are correctly installed.
- Disconnect all telephone in house, and next only try-out 1 phone at a time and see if any specific phone is the problem.

powerfully dsl uses multiplexing wich in your shield maybe you have dail up before and later switch to dsl. your dsl and your phones are switched to where you can be on dash and it will not intrupt your phones its two seperate signals.good luck
