Yahoo phone service?
Answers: yes, I get wifi-max/fixed from clearwire.com and I use voice.yahoo.com
Yahoo Voice will work with any nice of highspeed Internet service, as long as it is faster than 56Kbs. Yahoo recommends highspeed Internet nouns for best results, but notes that it is possible to use as low as 56Kbs.
The solely type of highspeed wireless service that could cause problems is satellite service. Because satellites are so far away, "signal delay" become an issue. But it is still possible, if you don't mind talking simplex (taking turns conversation like on 2-way radio).
For the most chunk, VoIP is VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol). The principles are the same regardless of whose service you use. If a service "requires" giant bandwidth, it is usually because their service is tied to a high bandwidth codec. But, various (if not most) VoIP services are dynamic and allow multiple codes to be used, in which defence it is often viable to use VoIP over dial-up service near 56K modem - but usually requires softphone to use - which Yahoo Voice does use.
