How to dial extentions?
Do you press the # switch?
Do you just type the extra digits as part of the pack of the regular phone number?
What
Answers: If just entering the extension doesn't work, later try pressing the # key after the extension numbers. Sometimes the # switch acts resembling a "send" key.
If that doesn't work, afterwards one question:
Are you using a VoIP phone?
It is a adjectives problem for some VoIP calls to not process DTMF tones properly. Sometimes it is a problem near how the VoIP service provider processes DTMF signalling tones.
I have experienced that problem tons times with different VoIP services - some will dispatch DTMF tones OK and some will not. It is often a event of how the VoIP carrier and web processes DTMF tones..... it's a complex issue as to why this happens.... but, it is usually related to the encoding/decoding Codecs used to process the call...
Just dial the regular number they give you first. Ususally you will get hold of a recording aphorism something like "please enter the extension of the party you are trying to reach..." and afterwards you put in the ext.
