Weird phone message?
Answers: Hi Emily
1st things 1st.
If a number that calls you from a non-caller ID phone column, ie from a line that's are not supported, afterwards you will get this issue, as its not withheld, its not supported!.
So if i ring you but did 1471, your service would say guest withheld number etc... but if i ring from work, which doesn't release any line details, you may capture this issue.
As you ex-partner, is an engineer, depending on his access and knowhow, he can do this by entering an Exchange (and remotely too) and selecting an out going trunk, which have no details too. I can do this on my system, on any on my works lines anywhere in the country depending on the access codes to allow you to do this.
So im clich¨¦ i could be, your EX.
Best thing to do is to ask for BT privacy, its free, and you will hold caller ID if you don't already, and ask for anonymous caller withheld, thus any person ringing near there company ID turned off or withheld, they would grasp a polite message advising them you are restricting call to this number. If your friend has within number withheld automatically, they will need to enter from a mobile *31#number or from a stop line 1470number. they will charge for this, within a few months turn it off, and by later the call would own gone away.
If this doesn't work, ring BT malicious telephone call unit, they will commence to investigate the culprit, but they normally insist on a change of number 1st.
hope this help.. a little....
If you dial 100 and ask to be put through to the mean calls bureau they can impart you some really helpful proposal and the calls are confidential. Good luck
