Up until Friday gone, my cordless telephone,computer and Sky be all up and working. As we be having wood flooring put down surrounded by the hallway today and the mobile cable ran beneath the old mat, we thought best to by an extension lead to run around the ceiling surrounded by case anything ever go wrong with the BT row. I bought an extension lead from Homebase and be told it was a simple available job to re-connect all the appliances. 6 hours subsequently on Saturday and a few choice words later, not adjectives 3 would work together! When all be connected, the phone would dial but not ring a number and if I rang the home number from my mobile, I get the engaged signal. I enjoy connected the computer and an old phone rear onto the old front, but the cordless phone will not work. I am so baffled why all 3 will presently not work on the new extension organize. Any ideas please?
Answers: If you afford more info as how you have connected the wires ie. is it a plug-in type extension or hold you wired it into the sockets then we possibly able to assist.
From the sounds of what you have written so far, one of the extension wires have a short circuit causing the vein to be engaged........but close to I say, more info is reqd....
ADDITIONAL.....it does nouns like the elderly extn wiring is still connected to the nte and have been worn out / disturbed during your floor laying putting a short circuit on the stripe causing unavailable when rang. If there's also no dial tone at the extn but at hand is at the nte, it is also going inter dis' (intermittently disconnected)
Make sure the old extn electric wiring is fully disconnected at both ends before trying again near the new one.
sounds approaching the wiring is wrong somewhere down the flash. Shame you had to alter it when it be working fine. Maybe you should take the organize back to the shop and ask them to replace it to see if it is imperfect. Sometimes new things are.
