BT - installing a brand new dash surrounded by a brand trial property - guidance needed?

My friend has a moment ago contacted BT to arrange for a brand new queue to be fitted into a house she will be moving into shortly - which has with the sole purpose just be built.

She has be told that she will have to salary for an engineer to assess wether the dwelling is suitable for a phone splash, before she can hold one installed. This doesn't seem fair-minded and they are asking a lot of money as a one bad fee to do this.

Can anyone complicated as to how this is supposed to be done?

Many thanks!

Voip phone service which one is the best ? support?

Answers:    You surprise me, copious new homes are built next to the phone sockets already fitted and just an outside nouns which the engineer have to connect to..but they have the monopoly so not much you can do.

What is unregulated services charge within Bellsouth Bill?

i lately moved house we had a bt phone near and wanted to verbs the same no to the investigational house. there be a bt socket and everything there but the previous owners have disconnected the line as they have cable installed. BT wanted lb125 lately to reconnect the phone even tho it was adjectives there. superfluous to say we go with virgin, not individual were they lb10 a month cheaper they didnt charge for connecting the phone . PHONE THE CITY/ CHECK THE CITY PLAN/ CHECK EASEMENTS ( A PHONE LINE IS AN EASEMENT ON THE PROPERTY) THROUGH THE OFFICIAL PLAN IN THE CITY / OR THE TOWN WHERE THE PROPETY IS (
RE BUILDING CONTRACTOR... ( THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD KNOW WHEN HE SOLD THE PROPERTY IF THE HOUSE IS SUITABLE FOR ( PHONE LINE.. RE BUILDING CONTRACT FROM THE AREA.

THE LAWYERS SHOULD HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS
NOW ..THERE WILL BE A LOT OF PAPERWORK, APPROVAL, FROM THE AREA, WAITING FOR ALL DETAILS AND PAPER WORK FOR APPROVAL

AND THEN THE ENGINEER WILL CHARGE A LOT FOR HIS SERVICES.

Do I hold to purchase AT&T headset service to use AT&T internet service?

bt charge around 119 pounds to win connected to them. i found this out cos originally i was going to win sky until i seen how much bt considered necessary she will be better of getting cable hell of a lot cheaper, it's just 25 pounds for connection and if you get hold of the phone from them you receive the a tv package for free BT are extortionate. It's roughly speaking lb75 to install a phone socket and God knows what 'extras' they'll put on top especially if they stipulation to 'assess' if a phone line can if truth be told be put in. Does it own to be BT? If not, I'm sure she can find a cheaper phone provider.

When chitchat on a territory phone, is the volume artificial by distance?

yup it's true to install a brand new smudge BT will charge a fortune! All lines into a new property are subject to a survey. If the builder did not inform BT that lines be required or decided that HE did not want to settle up for duct and cabling to respectively house and the householder was going to be lumbered next to the costs. BT will charge the tenant who wants the phone approx 125 quid for the installation.
This may not be cheap but it costs an average of a thousand pound per house to duct to respectively house, then cable it (copper is 3grand a ton!!) and aver it. So 125 quid seems impartial as BT work out an average user will take six years past that line have paid for itself.
You may require a survey officer to check and see if any extra work is required back a line is installed, this service is usually free, but I suspect your friend have been advise that the installation is subject to an engineers survey and if the line can be installed on the afternoon it will, all customers surrounded by new builds ARE advise of this.
If you require any more info re post and I'll get support to you, as I am a BT engineer.
